Just the right amount of vintage magic makes the 53OP the choice for those seeking a more traditional instrument. We started with an exotic Sungkai tonewood body for this special edition and wrapped it in a Tobacco Sunburst Open Pore finish that delivers a more natural feel. This finish will preserve the natural acoustic properties of this tonewood while still providing excellent protection. The pickup configuration on the 53OP guitars is vintage traditional. Well, at least that is how it appears. We put an MK electronics mod on the 53OP that we call the Quad Mod. As the name implies, you get four great sonic options instead of the expected three options. The 53OP has a four-way switch, and in that fourth switch position, we give you both pickups in series. It is like having a nice fat humbucker as those two pickups work together. The 53OP also has some excellent hot single-coil Rockfield's designed especially for this instrument. Traditional has never been more evolved.
